Irish Women's Hoops Game at UC

February 9, 2010

Notre Dame Women's Basketball

The Club is asking your support in rooting on the (currently) #3 ranked Women's Basketball team, who will be taking on the Bearcats.

The game is on Tuesday, Feb 9th at 7:00 pm, at 5/3 Arena on the UC campus.

Our goal for the game is to outnumber the UC fans in attendance, and we have been very successful in this effort the past few seasons.

Tickets are available at the UC ticket office in person in advance of the game, or can simply be purchased at the 5/3 Arena ticket window on the night of the game. Tickets are general admission so try and sit behind the ND bench once inside.

Additionally, the Club will be hosting a brief happy hour at Martino's on Vine (martinosonvine.com) starting at 5:15 pm, with the Club providing appetizers. Come on out and meet and greet other Irish fans before taking the short walk over to the arena.

Please contact Marc Wolnitzek (mswmsw@fuse.net, 859-653-7425) with any questions.

Go Irish, Beat Bearcats!

Annual Meeting / Basketball Gamewatch

February 24, 2010

O'Bryons Irish Pub

Please join the Club for our Annual Meeting, set to take place on Weds, Feb 24th in conjunction with the men's hoops game vs. Pittsburgh.

Don't let the word "meeting" scare you....we'll have a brief introduction of the 2010 Club board, along with information on events throughout the year and ways to get involved with the Club, so it's a great night to connect with fellow alums and Irish fans.

O'Bryons Irish Pub is the location....it's located at 1998 Madison Road, and we'll be upstairs.

Beverages and heavy appetizers will be provided by the Club, and the full O'Bryons menu will also be available for purchase.

Please contact Marc Wolnitzek (mswmsw@fuse.net) with any questions.

Hope to see you on the 24th!

2010 Communion Breakfast

Approximately 170 local graduates, current students, recently admitted high school seniors, and friends of the University of Notre Dame (ND) gathered on Sunday, January 10 at St. Xavier High School for the Notre Dame Club of Greater Cincinnati’s annual Communion Breakfast. The Rev. Paul Kollman, C.S.C. (ND’84,’90) a Cincinnati native who graduated from Moeller High School and now teaches theology at Notre Dame, traveled from South Bend to concelebrate the Mass with the Rev. Timothy Howe, S.J., President of St. Xavier High School. Chaired by Kevin McManus (ND’99) of Hyde Park, the event included the presentation of the club’s 2010 Exemplar Award to Kathleen (Thompson) Sullivan, MA’82, Ph.D.’87, a former Cincinnati resident who has been on the staff of the Notre Dame Alumni Association in South Bend since 1987.
